Growing Prayerfully Together,
        Reflecting Christ's Light to All

20/20 Vision

Growing Prayerfully Together, Reflecting Christ’s Light to All

Where there is no vision, the people perish. Proverbs 29:18 It’s also true that where there is vision, the people flourish. Vision in a church is a picture of the future God has revealed to its leaders. Vision calls for action. Otherwise, it’s only words. What actions will paint the picture of Ascension’s life and work toward the year 2020?

Whatever actions lead us forward, they must be based on faith. Scripture says, Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1 NRSV.   Let’s look at our 2020 Vision as a F.A.I.T.H. Forward Plan.

In the year 2020, we envision a church that will . . .

  4. 2,500-3,000 people worship at multiple services in our expanded sanctuary, which seats 1000.
  5. Ascension’s membership reflects racial and economic diversity.

Blessed are the poor, for us such is the kingdom  Matthew 5:3

This is an exciting vision of God’s future for us in the year 2020. It is a plan that goes beyond our own abilities and relies totally on a daring faith in the promise of God to empower us for anything we are called to do for the Kingdom. We have this hope, Jesus said, Everything is possible for the person who has faith. Mark 9:23 (TEV)
