1You, LORD, are the light that keeps me safe.  I am not afraid of anyone. You protect me, and I have no fears.

FEARLESS!

The turning of a year provides a chance not only to reflect on blessings and challenges past. The new year allows us to enter the future with faith expectations.

Many will be tempted to carry many fears with them into 2010. Let’s encourage them with the word: Don’t do it! You don’t need to!

The most often repeated sentence in the Bible is just two words: ‘fear not.’ I’m thinking God knows us well. We put our eyes on the many threats and dangers that might happen - on all the ‘what ifs’ of an unknown future. I wonder how many wasted hours and needless stomach aches and headaches and soul aches have resulted from worries and fears over things that never materialized. God calls us to trade our fears for faith.

So over and over and over, our loving God says, “Don’t be afraid. My plans for you are only good, marked by real hope.”

Enter the new year with hope and strength. Take in every message with what God has to say about walking you through your fears with courage and faith.
