Upon receiving Pastor Jim Bickel's resignation, the Council appointed a Succession Team to implement a succession plan that facilitates a continuity of pastoral leadership that will affirm Ascension's mission, vision, and values, and assure the ongoing health, stability and growth of our church.

In addition. the Succession Team is directed to implement a plan for the succession of the church leadership so there will be a continuity of ministries.

The Council also appointed a Call Team whose responsibility is to find the best candidate to fill the vacancy.
