Mission OutreachMission Trips
People to People

People to People was established to organize and support mission trips, both national and global.  Ascension has sent teams of missionaries to Honduras to complete projects and work with orphaned children, and to the US gulf coast to assist with hurricane disaster relief.  Trips to El Salvador are likely in the future as Ascension expands that partnership ministry.

Mission Trips 2010

One of the Ascension 2020 Visions is that "People of all ages are involved in multiple mission trips, locally, nationally, and globally." There are a number of opportunities to do just that in 2010.

NOLA 2010 - Ascension's fourth Mission Trip to New Orleans - View photos from trip

Hugs for Honduras (Global) - A trip to pro-vide ministries at an orphanage in Honduras is in the early planning stages. The trip would take place Nov 19-27. Contact Bonnie Thiesenhusen for details.

El Salvador Partnership (Global) - Consider traveling to El Salvador with a Synod Learning Delegation August 6-13. Experience Accompany-ment by visiting churches and communities, meet-ing people, learning history and cul-ture and much more.

Global Village Camp (Local) - This event will be at Pine Lake Camp in Wau-paca, July 7-10. The theme is "One World, One People". This is an opportunity for the entire family to experience a global village living among and learning first-hand about the amazing cultures and peoples in God‘s world in a special camp setting!

Habitat for Humanity-Thrivent Builds (Local) - No need to travel any further than Mil-waukee to work with other Lutheran volunteers on Habitat homes during "Framing Week", May 10-14. Mark your calendars! Contact Rick Simon for details
