Holiday Programs Offer Many Mission Outreach Opportunities
Attend the 12th Annual CCWC HOPE Dinner and Auction – Ascension members are invited to join others in the community for an enjoyable evening of fellowship, food and fundraising at the Country Springs Hotel on November 18. Tickets are $60. See Cathy Rapp or Dave Hammer for details and menu selection. Let’s fill 3 tables with Ascension members like we did last year.
Ring the Bells for Salvation Army - A great hands-on ministry opportunity for individuals, families and small groups to generate holiday cheer for those in need in the community. Volunteers are needed to fill 21 time slots to:
- What - Ring bells for the Salvation Army
- Where - Downtown office of Waukesha State Bank
- When - Saturdays from Nov 6 through Dec 18 from 9:00-12:00 noon
Sign up now on the easel in the Narthex. First date is November 6. It would be great if a small group could fill all the time slots on a Saturday by working three 1-hour shifts or six 1/2-hour shifts.
Purchase Mt. Meru Coffee Gift Packs to Help Bring Economic Justice to Small Farmers in Tanzania – Mt. Meru Coffee is available for sale every Sunday. Cost is $9 per bag for both Regular and Decaf. Purchasing Mt. Meru Coffee is the best way for you to help the small farmers receive a fair price for their coffee crop. During the holidays, consider doing justice by purchasing coffee or gift packs as gifts for yourself or others on your gift list. Watch for the sale of gift packs in late November and early December. DOING JUSTICE NEVER TASTED SO GOOD – and was never so easy!
Ascension “Angel Tree” – Christmas is the time when we remember the greatest gift of all – the birth of the Christ Child – by sharing gifts with one another. Ascension members will have an opportunity for a gifts-in-kind ministry by purchasing gifts for families in need. Watch for the Angel Tree in the Narthex in late November.
