Opportunities for Small Group Mission Outreach

Several small groups have formed to support a specific Mission Outreach goal.  They welcome new members to help them achieve their Mission.

Refugee Resettlement

The Refugee Resettlement Ministry has sponsored and settled 7 families seeking asylum over the last 7 years. Most refugees arrive in this country with little more than the clothes on their backs.  This ministry addresses the full range of needs - Housing, Health, Justice, Clothing, Education, Employment - in helping families begin a new life in the US.

An  intergenerational family of eight has recently arrived from Burma.  The committee is busy getting them settled - furnishing a living space, assisting with documentation, taking them to appointments, and the many others things needed to help them integrate into our community.  The Refugee Resettlement Ministry welcomes you to join in their efforts.

Prison Ministry

The Prison Ministry group provides care and support of prisoners by providing reading materials, including Bibles, for prison libraries and conducting “pen pal” ministries.  Released offenders also receive support for clothing, housing, employment and other aspects of re-entry into society.

AMEN Ministry

Groups of men from AMEN Ministry help to prepare and serve at the Outreach Meals program of CCWC in Waukesha at least twice a year.

SOPHIA

Several Ascension members are engaged in SOPHIA, an association of congregations in Waukesha county, as advocates to address economic, racial and social injustices.

Cross Church Meal Program
