Then the righteous will answer him, “Lord, when was it that we saw you hungry and gave you food, or thirsty and gave you something to drink? And when was it that we saw you a stranger and welcomed you, or naked and gave you clothing? And when was it that we saw you sick or in prison and visited you?” And the king will answer them, “Truly I tell you, just as you did it to one of the least of these who are members of my family, you did it to me.” Matthew 25:37-40

Rev. Patrick Keen has served at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in New Orleans since 1999. He has been active with the recovery efforts after Hurricane Katrina. He is a trusted servant among the poor of New Orleans and he is not bashful about sharing his conviction that we are all God’s children no matter what our background may be. He will speak to us about “Social Justice: Utilizing the Social Determinants of Health”. He will share with us how we need to look at the many factors leading to a healthy life for all, not just handouts of food, clothing, and health care, but also jobs, education, self confidence, etc.
