Participating Small Groups are encouraged to participate in a service project either during or after the completion of the Justice for the Poor Campaign. Here is a list of service areas that your group could use to find a place where you could serve together during or after this Justice for the Poor campaign.
- Serving a meal at the Ronald McDonald House to hospitalized kid’s families.
- The Habitat for Humanity service day in October. See the October newsletter.
- Help with Lutheran Social Service projects, like repairing or painting one of the group homes they sponsor.
- Help serve a meal at the meal site at Cross Lutheran Church.
- Help out at the Hope Center with their care center for adults, meals, and many other volunteers opportunities.
- Be mentors for grieving children and their families at Healing Hearts.
- Help Jo Buth serve a meal to our refugee families at Ascension.
- Help out at the Waukesha Food Pantry.
- Help out at the Waukesha Salvation Army meal site.
- Provide a basket for the Honduras mission trip auction fundraiser in October at Ascension. See Bonnie Thiesenhusen.
- Participate in the dollar a day for poverty with proceeds going to Outreach for Hope.
