Faith Forward - It's Big and It’s Coming This Fall! by Jeff Kirk

In a moment of weakness, or perhaps divine intervention, I volunteered to lead the Faith Forward program this fall. Guess what? It's too big! It's all about spiritual growth, joyful worship, caring relationships AND mission outreach. All in one program, setting Ascension up for its 2020 Vision. Yikes!

I don't have time for this. My business needs attention, finances aren't where they should be, my kids are active this summer, Bryn is stressed, I'm overworked and over-committed. Does this sound like your life too? I look at what we're going to attempt, and I don't think I can handle it. It's too big! Maybe even bigger than my faith.

And then I was asked to write an article for the newsletter. I didn't know what to write so I went for a ride on my bicycle and contemplated. Wow, God's bigger! Our Faith Forward program is just this little teeny tiny thing compared to what God does everyday. To get this done we just need more of His people involved. Then it takes all of us just a little bit of work, no more than a couple hours a week, maybe less.

We need a team of 15 who can lead other teams. We've got 7 already. We need assistant team leaders. We need team members. We could have hundreds of people sharing the load! Whether you've been a member for years, just joined last month, or this newsletter is your only connection to church, take a chance and see how God can move through you. Together it's like a little thing, with big results.
